2021 Porsche Cayenne vs. 2021 Cadillac XT5

The 2021 Porsche Cayenne boasts of a lot of things. It has a plush, generously spaced interior. It has a sporty, stylish exterior. Apart from a reliable list of standard features, this luxury midsize SUV is also gifted with powerful engine choices.

As for the 2021 Cadillac XT5, there is not really much to expect, most especially because it does not carry any major changes from its predecessor. There is plenty of legroom inside, and it also received excellent ratings for predicted reliability. It offers great gas mileage as well.

Design & Style

Looking stylish with its set of high-quality cabin materials, the 2021 Porsche Cayenne has also been perfectly styled outside. This makes it modern yet sporty throughout. Interior space is enough to carry four adults, with an option to upgrade and add a rear middle seat so that it can accommodate up to five. There is plenty of legroom and headroom for both rows of seats as well.

When it comes to the 2021 XT5, there are also two rows of seats that can seat up to five people. It leaves the cargo area generous enough to carry suitcases for its occupants. When it comes to the rear seats, taller passengers may just find a difficult time looking for a comfortable seating position. In terms of design quality, it does not beat the Cayenne at all.

Technology & Safety

Equipped with the Porsche Communication Management infotainment interface, the 2021 Porsche Cayenne uses a reliable 12.3-inch touch screen display, which easily responds to user inputs. It is also a seamless system that integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are other features to love in this ride, including the navigation, satellite radio, rearview camera, and the front and rear parking sensors.

In the case of the XT5, it uses the CUE system which is outfitted with an eight-inch touch screen. This one receives various complains for the lack of quick response to user inputs. There are eight speakers, a Bluetooth interface, and satellite radio, together with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. On the safety side, there may be plenty of features, but they are not really as reliable as expected.

The 2021 Cayenne has three engine configurations. The base engine has a V6 which can carry 335 horsepower. Its V8 engine can aspirate up to 551 horsepower. Another engine variation is squeezed between these two and this can generate 443 horsepower. For the XT5, there is a V6 engine which can only reach up to 310 horsepower in terms of results.

The Bottom Line

The XT5 seems to appear good because of its long list of safety features. These are not enough for it to defeat the more handsome and powerful 2021 Porsche Cayenne.
