Each new generation of the Porsche 911 introduces new heresy into the model’s storied history. Purists bemoan technological advances, but enthusiasts still buy 911s as fast as Porsche makes them. For 2017, Porsche updates the 911 portfolio with the Turbo, Turbo S and GT3 models. No disrespect to the Turbo S — it’s the fastest 911 on the lot — but the ... Read More

Like George and Weezy, the Porsche Boxster is movin’ on up. Of course, the previous generations of the Boxster weren’t exactly slumming it — on the contrary. Roughly 300,000 examples were sold during its first decade and a half of production, making it one of the most popular convertibles on the planet. But there was always a distinct sense that it was the... Read More

    Starting MSRP:

There's so much going on beneath the skin as the 718 Boxster dances its pavement hustle, it bears some study. There's a traction-control system that can send torque front and rear as the need arises; there's an available torque-vectoring system, where an electronically locking differential across the rear axle gives even more precise control over power delivery.... If there’s one thing the 2017 Porsche Cayenne needed, it was more power; after all, the best last year’s Cayenne could do was 500 horsepower in Turbo guise. Porsche had to do something, so what the hey, why not give the Turbo a 10 percent hp boost and call this new creation the Cayenne Turbo S? So it was that the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S became the big news for 2017, ... Read More

The 2017 Porsche Cayman, is a nearly perfect sports car. It’s usually easy to see how a car could be improved, even when it’s considered the segment’s latest and greatest, but this Cayman has us scratching our heads. Short of giving this coupe wings, or perhaps making it amphibious, we’re not sure how Porsche could do any better. However, we certainly ... Read More

Major changes come the Porsche Panamera’s way for 2017, as the lineup expands to include a long-wheelbase Executive body style and a plug-in S E-Hybrid variant. A new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 for non-hybrid S trims replaces the previous naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8, and all models get standard variable-ratio steering. There are also a few subtle styling tweaks, including a new... Read More

The Porsche 911 line is considered by some purists to be the “only” real Porsche, with all others branching off to sell to specific market segments, like the limbs on a tree. We like them all, but the 911 certainly has a long lineage and dedication to meeting Porsche’s demanding engineering standards. It comes in a variety of trims to satisfy its customers. In its coupe form you have the Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera S, Carrera 4S, Targa S, Targa 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S. If you prefer to put the top down, convertible trims include the Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera S, Carrera 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S. The 911 R and GT3 RS are also available for owners ready to go to the track.

Powering the 911 is a variety of engines. The base engine is a 3.0 liter flat-six with variable valve timing which develops 370-hp and 331 lb-ft of torque. A manual transmission is standard, with the PDK automatic available. In the S and 4S trims, the horsepower is boosted to 420, and torque increases to 368 ft-lbs. The Turbo uses a 3.8 liter flat-six developing 540-hp and 486 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo S uses the same engine, but engine control management creates 580-hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo trims use the PDK transmission as standard.

Safety is embedded in the Porsche DNA, and the 2017 Porsche 911 is no exception. A strong safety cage frame with front and rear crumple zones provide passive safety protection. Active features include anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, front and side airbag systems, emergency braking assist, auto-leveling headlights, and available adaptive cruise control with Porsche Active Safe system.

Inside and out, the 2017 Porsche 911 has an almost endless list of available options. Porsche will entertain special requests to help you customize your 911 and make it your own. The trims already come with a long list of features, so you may find what you desire with the factory options. Interior standard features include power adjustable leather front seats, split folding rear seat, keyless entry door locks, cruise control, dual-zone climate control with filter, a minimum of 8-speaker stereo with several upgrade options, satellite radio, voice activated navigation, Bluetooth®, Porsche Car Connect, and real-time traffic. Exterior standard features include variable intermittent rain-sensing wipers, rear window defogger, and a rear spoiler.

Optional exterior features include premium multi-adjustable sport seats, Sport Chrono performance package, various options for model deletion and logo painting, electric slide/tilt sunroof, LED headlights with dynamic lighting system, and larger trim-specific sport wheels. Available interior features include leather trim on sun visor, instrument surrounds, and other interior surfaces, seat belts in a variety of colors, Sport Chrono clock in different colors, Bose® surround-sound system, interior treatments in a variety of materials including aluminum, carbon fiber, mahogany, or other materials, ventilated front seats, and a variety of colors for instrument trims. Mechanical options include a sport exhaust, the PDK automatic transmission to replace standard manual transmission models, ceramic-composite brakes, Power Steering Plus, and a front axle lift system for low clearance driveways and such.

The classic 2017 Porsche 911 must be seen and driven to fully appreciate its power and comfort, and you can do that at Princeton Porsche. Stop by today and become part of the 911 legacy with the exciting 2017 Porsche 911.
